A catch-all mailbox is one that gathers all the email messages sent to non-existent addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody misspells it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and thus you’ll never miss emails because the other party has an obsolete email address or has made a typographical error. The disadvantage of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving a lot of spam, but this issue can be resolved by using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also crucial to know that a mailbox with an activated catch-all feature cannot redirect inbound messages to a 3rd-party email address.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

If you’ve got a cloud plan with our company and you wish to enable the catch-all option for a given email mailbox that you’ve got in your hosting account, it’ll take literally just one single mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do this. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each email address that you have set up under any domain registered in your account. You can select one address per domain by clicking the corresponding button. This will enable the feature immediately, so all emails sent to misspelled email addresses will be delivered there. Clicking the button once more will deactivate the catch-all feature. In case you have activated email forwarding, our system will exhibit a warning note and you will not be able to activate the catch-all feature unless you remove the forwarding or you can simply select a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.
